Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand. Koh Mak, Trat

Lying between Ko Chang and Ko Kut. And resembles a four-pointed star when viewed from above. Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand.       Khao Soi is a native food of the northern part of Thailand. It was originally called Kuay Tiew Hor. It looks like noodles in a soup with spicy curry paste and side dishes such as pickled mustard greens, red onions, seasonings such as fried chili, oil, lime juice and fish sauce.

      Sai Oua is one of the traditional food menus of the northern people that has used the method of food preservation since the past by mixing pork with herbs and stuffing it in the intestines. Then grill or fry it until cooked until fragrant. This menu is not only delicious but also has high nutritional value. It is suitable to eat with sticky rice or fresh vegetables.

      Gaeng Hoh or Kua Hoh is a northern Thai dish that combines many different dishes. In the past, leftover food was eaten and seasoned to taste. Fermented bamboo shoot, red curry paste, hang lay curry paste and kae curry paste combine to make the base ingredients. These then are mixed with a good variety of herbs and vegetables, pork belly meat, glass noodle, shrimp paste and chilies.

Lampang

Lampang is a tourist town in the north that still retains the atmosphere of a retro atmosphere. Tourists can start with travelling within the city that still uses carriages as a means of transportation which is then becoming a uniqueness of the province. Located in the Hat Chao Mai National Park, and the atmosphere is quiet and private. On the east side is the port, and there is a fishing village that continues the way of life of the islanders. It also has a wider variety of accommodation than the west coast. Most of which are towering cliffs facing the sea and the location of Tham Morakot. In addition, around Ko Muk, there are white sandy beaches and beautiful snorkelling spots. At the mouth of the cave, the sunlight will reflect on the water in the cave causing the water to be emerald green. Tourists can do various activities at Koh Muk. Emerald Cove (Tham Morakot), this is one of the most famous and coolest things to do on Koh Mook – it’s a beach that you can access through a coastal cave, formed by a collapsed sinkhole in the limestone rock. 

Go hiking, there are a few semi-strenuous hikes into the central hills, the most popular of which leads to Viewpoint Koh Mook in the centre of the island and eventually culminates at Sabai Beach

Go snorkelling, there are some reasonable places between Emerald Cove and Charlie Beach on the western side, with Koh Kradan also having some great options if you visit on a day trip.
